Oil Seed Preparation (Preparatory)

Process Description

During the extraction process, oil-bearing seeds like soybean, sunflower, cotton, groundnut, mustard, sheanut, canola, rapeseed and rice bran have to be correctly prepared. Key preparation steps in extraction include seed cleaning, cracking, cooking, flaking, expanding, and cooling. Depending on protein requirement, seeds can also be partially or fully dehulled. These applications are for oil seeds like soybean, cotton, sunflower, canola and rapeseed, mustard, castor, sesame, and groundnut, among others.

Steps involve in Oil seed Preparation.

1) Conveyer/Elevator

These are to transfer the material from one place to another in preparatory section.

2) Cleaning

Seeds are properly cleaned to remove unwanted material like duct, leaves and other foreign material.

3) De-stoning

In this step various size of stones/sand are removed from seeds.

4) De-hulling

In this step kernel from the seeds removed, and hulls are separated from the kernel.

5) Crushing/Cracking

Seed cracker to break the seeds into pieces, these seed crackers are featured stability, quality, durability & reliability.

6) Conditioner

Vertical, Multistage unit with fabricated trays by in-direct heating using steam, to correctly cook and conditioned the material prior to flacker. The agitator bladed operated by central shaft do the homogenous mixing of material which prevents burning at the bottom. A vertical duct extract exhaust vapours from stage and maintain the final moisture level of the material by ejecting the steam,

7) Flaker

Seeds flakers are normally used to increase the capacity of expeller as well as it reduce the wear and tear of expeller

8) Expander

It is mainly used to prepared collects from the flakes. Collects increase the porosity which in turn increase the percolation of hexane this yield faster extraction of oils from collects.
