Degumming

KEY STEPS

One of the key steps in the refining process is the elimination of impurities from crude vegetable oils especially the phosphatides or so-called gums. They are mainly present in oils extracted with solvent from soya beans, sunflower seed, and rapeseed. They have to be removed in the early refining stage for two main reasons: They are responsible for high refining losses due to their emulsifying properties, and they decompose, darkening the oil due to their thermal instability.

Steps involve in Oil seed Preparation.

1) Water Degumming

Hydrated gum (Phosphatides), that is soluble in water, from in the edible oil, into process, crude edible oil is treated with the water as certain temperature, Gums, which are soluble in water, react with the water for become the viscous liquid, this mixer of water and gums, called as wet gums, separated by centrifugal separation, and we get the Gums & Degummed oil, this wet gum further dried and converted into Lecithin. 2) Enzymatic Degumming

We have the enzymatic degumming technology and successfully implemented and commissioned the plants on commercial scale. The enzymatic degumming process has significantly checked the content of phosphorous level in every oil.

3) Acid Degumming

We Provide highly efficient acid degumming process, Oil is headed up to 60-70 Degree Add then mixing of oil with phosphoric acid, giving some retention time, after that gums are separated by Centrifuge, and we get degummed crude edible oil, then this oil gets dried in vacuum dryer. Non-Hydratable gums requires use of acid to convert to Hydratable gums for completely removed of gums from oil. This process is mostly followed by Alkali Refining with advantage to reduce the consumption of bleaching earth in bleaching section.
